Burger Motorsports will temporarily pause operations on November 19, 2026, citing employee scheduling conflicts tied to GTA 6’s launch.

The release of Grand Theft Auto 6 continues to be anticipated as a major cultural event. The game will launch on November 19, as Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed several times. In anticipation of employees being too preoccupied to come to work, one business has already decided to temporarily pause operations that day.

The business in question is a burger joint (in name only), but before getting into the meat of the matter, here’s how you can have the cleanest reading experience for this and all of our stories: download the free Insider Gaming App for iOS or Android.

Burger Motorsports is the business that made this decision. In an internal company memo shared on the brand’s social media pages, the company announced that it made this decision after reviewing multiple employee scheduling conflicts and realizing that everything might be tied to the game’s release

“Normal business operations are expected to resume once employees have completed their initial exploration, finished at least one mission, and returned to reality. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this unprecedented cultural event,” the closing of the memo reads.

Rockstar Games recently announced that pre-orders for the game will be available starting June 25. This adds further confirmation that the release date is now firmly established. The game was initially scheduled for release in late 2025, then moved to May of this year, and has since been postponed to November.
