Bethesda is focused on the development of The Elder Scrolls 6, and Xbox CEO Asha Sharma is getting in on the hype train.
In a social media post on Tuesday, Sharma spoke about her recent time with the game, but also subtley teased the game’s title.
What Will The Game Be Called?
In her Twitter post, Sharma said that she had a live playthrough of The Elder Scrolls 6. How she described it is sure to get players excited, but there was more than that in her post.
“Live playthrough of The Elder Scrolls VI: ******** this morning,” Sharma wrote. “The scale and grandeur are incredible. The story is even greater.”
Praising the game’s “scale and grandeur” is one thing, and so is calling the story great. But what many are sure to focus on is the “The Elder Scrolls VI: ********”.
Sharma included eight asterisks in her post, a likely intentional tease of the length of the title. Many fans have believed that the next game would be called “Hammerfell”. However, if the eight asterisks are accurate to the length, then it just won’t fit.
Of course, there’s always the possibility that none of that was intentional. But it doesn’t seem, through the first six months of Sharma’s time at the head of Xbox, that anything is done without intent.
“With over 65 million copies sold, players are still exploring Skyrim 15 years later, but we know it’s been a very long wait for the sequel,” Bethesda’s Todd Howard recently said. “The next chapter is on the way. We’re where we planned to be, loving how it looks, and playing it every day.”
First announced in 2018, The Elder Scrolls 6 is scheduled to be the next big release from Bethesda. A release window, however, has yet to be confirmed.
