New Mega Pokémon & Abilities in Pokémon Champions Regulation M-B

11 new Mega Evolution forms have been added to Pokémon Champions with the Regulation M-B update, revealing the abilities of many new Pokémon.
The format of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, where all of the new additions to Pokémon Champions debuted, meant that there were no Abilities in the game. Therefore, newly-added Mega Evolution Pokémon in the game had their Abilities hidden until now.
The table below showcases all of the newly added Mega Evolution Pokémon to Pokémon Champions in Regulation M-B, and their in-game abilities, with thanks to Serebii.
| Pokémon | Ability | Ability Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Mega Raichu X | Electric Surge | Turns the entire field into Electric Terrain for five turns when the Pokémon enters a battle |
| Mega Raichu Y | No Guard | Accuracy of moves used both by and against the Pokémon becomes 100% |
| Mega Staraptor | Contrary | Reverses any stat changes affecting the Pokémon so that attempts to boost its stats instead lower them—and attempts to lower its stats will boost them. |
| Mega Scolipede | Shell Armor | Attacks landed on the Pokémon will never be critical hits. |
| Mega Scrafty | Intimidate | When the Pokémon enters a battle, it lowers the Attack stats of opponents by 1 stage. |
| Mega Eelektross | Eelevate | The Pokémon floats off the ground, making it immune to Ground-type moves, as well as the Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Sticky Web statuses. When the Pokémon knocks out a target with an attack, its highest stat is boosted by 1 stage. |
| Mega Pyroar | Fire Mane | Boosts the power of the Pokémon’s Fire-type moves by 50%. |
| Mega Malamar | Contrary | Reverses any stat changes affecting the Pokémon so that attempts to boost its stats instead lower them—and attempts to lower its stats will boost them. |
| Mega Barbaracle | Tough Claws | Boosts the power of the Pokémon’s contact moves by 30%. |
| Mega Dragalge | Regenerator | The Pokémon has 1/3 of its max HP restored when it switches out of battle. |
| Mega Flainks | Defiant | When the Pokémon has any of its stats lowered by an opponent, its Attack stat is boosted by 2 stages. |
What Mega Pokémon Abilities Are Brand New?
Eelevate and Fire Mane are the two brand-new abilities in Pokémon Champions, available exclusively for Mega Eelektross and Mega Pyroar respectively.
While both abilities could be added to other Pokémon in future generations of the game, the specifics of the name indicates the plans to keep them exclusive for the respective Pokémon, particularly as other existing Abilities have the same effects.
Eelevate is Mega Eelektross’ form of the Levitate ability, which has exactly the same benefits. Meanwhile, the 50% boost to Fire-type moves from Mega Emboar’s Fire Mane ability is the same as the boost from the Blaze ability.
However, the big difference with Blaze compared to Fire Mane is the latter is always active, whereas Blaze only activates if the Pokémon has less than 1/3 of its maximum HP remaining.
