If you purchase Grand Theft Auto 6 on any PS5 console, you’re securing some fun extra features you won’t find on Xbox or eventually PC. They don’t define GTA 6, but they’re a fun inclusion nonetheless.
GTA 6 is coming to PlayStation and Xbox at launch. PC users are being made to wait, and there’s pretty much no chance of a Switch port.
That said, if you do buy GTA 6 with the intention of playing it on PS5 or your even more powerful PS5 Pro, PlayStation has revealed some extras.
Every PS5-Exclusive Feature For GTA 6

Sony has communicated that GTA 6 will have special Haptic feedback, 3D audio, fast load times, and speaker features exclusive to PlayStation, designed to enhance your GTA 6 experience.
Haptic Feedback
Exclusive Sony PlayStation 5 features have possibly not been utilized as much as they could have. PS5 first-party titles have benefitted from this: Returnal, Saros, and Marvel’s Spider-Man games, for example.
But GTA 6 will also do its best to bring you more reasons to enjoy the sixth mainline game on PlayStation.
Here’s what the PS Store says about the feature:
‘Responsive vibrations from the DualSense wireless controller’s revolutionary haptic feedback will react to your choices and simulate environmental factors all across the sprawling state of Leonida and modern-day Vice City.’
It’s quite vague, and a Sony Blog elaborated: ‘The controller’s haptic feedback offers responsive vibrations, while its adaptive triggers provide dynamic resistance. The controller’s integrated speaker also adds another dimension to key moments and interactions, with sound effects from the controller enhanced by haptic feedback.’
This could mean proper kickback from car crashes, gunfire, explosions, and more.
Tempest 3D Audio
3D audio was one of the core selling points in the build-up to the PS5’s launch.
The Tempest 3D audio gets nice use in GTA 6:
‘Immerse yourself in Leonida’s distinct soundscape with the enhanced and highly accurate audio positioning of Tempest 3D Audio, making each unique situation come alive.’
The blog added: ‘With Tempest 3D AudioTech, you can surround yourself in the distinct soundscapes of Leonida. From the streets of Vice City to the moments that unfold all across the state, this highly accurate audio positioning enhances your perception, helping to bring this world to life around you in unmatched ways.’
Rockstar Games is as focused on attention to detail as anyone, and playing GTA 6 through headphones will be ridiculously immersive.
Integrated Speaker
This ties back into haptic feedback, but the PlayStation DualSense will probably have phone calls playing out on your controller, and relay back sound in new ways:
‘The DualSense wireless controller’s integrated speaker also offers an extra dimension with featured occurrences and interactions accentuated by remarkable sound effects from the controller – often enhanced by immersive haptic feedback.’
Fast Load Times
Now, Sony is pushing the narrative that GTA 6 plays ‘Best on PS5’.
This is helped by GTA 6 being PS5 Pro Enhanced, as well as the special features I’ve outlined already. But playing GTA on PS5 means practically no loading screens on PS5.
Does this mean Xbox Series X owners won’t get fast loading times? I wouldn’t think so, the XSX is a powerful console in its own right, and the same likely applies to Microsoft’s biggest hardware beast.
On the other hand, Sony is happily advertising that you won’t spend much time dithering in loading screens:
‘Grand Theft Auto VI also leverages the PS5’s ultra-high speed SSD, enabling you to experience the expansive world of Leonida with near-instant load times.’
