Complexity shuts down operations as founder Jason Lake leaves after 23 years

Complexity has officially ceased operations after 23 years, with founder Jason Lake confirming his departure from the renowned North America-based esports organization on Sept. 23.

Lake revealed in a video posted on X that the decision to shut down Complexity was made at the end of 2025 after evaluating the organization’s financial position and prospects for raising capital to settle a seller-held note from its 2024 acquisition.
