Fallout 76 Has Performed Better Than You’d Think in 2026

Fallout 76 has long proven to be a divisive title. It’s a love-or-hate kind of game that has split the post-apocalyptic community down the middle. You either adore it and it’s one of your favorite MMO titles ever, or you hate it and say it’s ‘not a real Fallout game.’ Wherever you fall in the debate, one fact stands, and that’s that Fallout 76 isn’t going anywhere.

Over the years since Fallout 76 launched (way back in 2018), it has grown immeasurably, and with each new update, more players have found their way into the ecosystem. In a new report from Newzoo, Fallout 76’s pulling power was revealed in full.

Fallout 76 is Still Making (Irradiated) Waves

In a new Global Games report from Newzoo, one of the leading data aggregation and analytics firms in the business, the year’s top games by revenue were laid out for all to see.

On PC, the biggest hitters were the likes of Fortnite, World of Warcraft, Subnautica 2, The Sims 4, and Minecraft, which is all pretty predictable. The data gathered runs from January to June 2026, and it’s looking at six key markets, considering five of the biggest genres in the space.

On consoles, the results were pretty predictable. Thanks to a massive pre-order campaign, Grand Theft Auto 6 is the top console game by revenue for the Adventure genre. In Sports, it’s EA Sports FC 26; in Shooter, it’s Fortnite; and in Role-Playing, it’s Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

Finally, rounding out the pack, you’ve got Minecraft occupying the top spot in Sandbox.

But if you look towards the base of the chart for the Role-Playing genre, you’ll see that Fallout 76 is going strong down there amongst heavy hitters like Diablo IV, Genshin Impact, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

While some will tell you that Fallout 76 is dying, these kinds of results are indicative of the opposite. It’s the fifth highest-grossing game in the RPG space this year, according to Newzoo. That’s pretty huge.

In terms of ranking, it’s on par with 007 First Light, EA Sports College Football 27, Apex Legends, and Terraria, all of which are pretty massive games that have also performed very well over the years.
