A fresh slew of content is coming to Mario Kart World as part of a free update, bringing a slew of additional courses to the game from Super Mario Kart.
Released in June 2025 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive launch title, Mario Kart World took the franchise into new territory with open-world exploration, and there have been a few updates to the title since.
Now, another free update is bringing some fan-favorite tracks back into the fray, alongside additional routes to Knockout Tour.
Mario Kart World DLC Revealed
Revealed during the Nintendo Direct, 10 courses that appeared in Super Mario Kart are coming to Mario Kart World, though the biggest surprise was that the free update would arrive later today.
The new courses join the VS Race Mode, while there are also two additional Knockout Tour rallies coming to the game, which will drop after the Nintendo Direct concludes.
Many of the classic courses feature question mark panels, and the sights of the courses will be familiar to gamers, as they have been present in the game since launch, albeit without the tracks in VS Mode.
While it’s not the paid-for DLC that many expected to be revealed, the drop of 10 additional courses to the game will certainly whet the appetite.
It seems that if paid-for DLC is coming to Mario Kart World, it won’t be until next year at the earliest, but given the long-running support Mario Kart 8 had, there’s still plenty of hope.
