Battlefield REDSEC Esports Are Finally Here As Elite Series Surfaces

In December 2025, barely two months after Battlefield REDSEC hit the market, the proposed esports ecosystem for the game was plunged into darkness. That was because the Elite Series, a $1 million tournament hosted on the battle royale platform, was postponed with no new date in sight.

It was all because the game was suffering from technical issues out the wazoo, and it wasn’t ready to support the competitive integrity needed to host such a tournament. Now, thanks to a mighty revelation from Battlefield Studios, I’m happy to report that the Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series is coming back, and it has a bigger prize pool than before.

Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series Now Has a $1.3 Million Pool

When the news dropped in December that Battlefield REDSEC’s proposed esports circuit wasn’t going to emerge, many felt that it never would, given how it was all slashed to pieces. Slowly but surely, Battlefield Studios has brought the notion of a competitive circuit within the game back to life, and today, a mega-sized announcement put everything right.

In a massive blog post, the team explained that REDSEC’s competitive ecosystem is about to erupt.

They wrote:

Whether you’re looking to test yourself in your first tournament, compete against the best players in your region, or follow the road to crowning the next Elite Series champions, there’s plenty to look forward to in the months ahead.

From September 19 to October 10, three regions will be able to participate in Cash Cups, which isn’t by any means a new feature in the REDSEC space. There’s a prize pool worth $150,000 on the line, and multiple squads can stand up and compete for a portion of that.

The next most important step in the cycle is the arrival of the Open Series, which is something of a qualifying road to the Elite Series. This runs from October 24 to November 1 and features three two-day Cups followed by a 24-team Match Point Open Series Final.

Incredibly, up to a whopping 384 teams can compete across each cup in each region. It’s safe to say this will be a dense tournament.

The top-performing squads will qualify for the Elite Series, the pinnacle of REDSEC esports.

From December 4 to January 16, 2027, the Elite Series will take place, with 48 teams per region (APAC, EMEA, and the Americas) entering the battlefield (pun) to fight for a whopping $1.3 million prize pool ($446,000 per region).

This lands in season five, which will also introduce ‘a more focused competitive experience’ for all players.
