The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Release Date Revealed

Nintendo has finally announced the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, sparking the countdown to launch properly.

A remake of the fan favorite Zelda title was announced earlier this year with a broad 2026 release window, but full details of the release date for the Ocarina of Time Remake have now been shared at The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct.

Ocarina of Time Remake Release Date Announced

While the special Nintendo Direct presentation focused on the Zelda franchise as a whole, a large chunk of time was dedicated to the Ocarina of Time Remake, where a release date of November 5, 2026 was announced.

During a gameplay overview, it was made clear that the title will remain true to its roots and wouldn’t be an open-world escapade like the most recent Zelda titles, but it includes more modern features like a rotating camera, new dialogue, and controlled jumping, rather than the automatic leaps of the original title.

The remake also features Navi, a new fairy companion, which will provide combat tips and other advice on your journey, but some significant development choices were made, including brief loading screens when moving through areas to preserve the title’s original essence.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest video games of all-time, clamour for the Ocarina of Time remake has been high, and fans are finally getting what they want.

It’s the perfect title for players to sink their teeth into while waiting for the next mainline Zelda title to be released, following on from cult classics Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
