We’re expecting another big showing from Nintendo as 2026 comes to a close. The rumored September Nintendo Direct is already building hype with some fun announcements expected, and we’ve got the latest on its rumored date, games, and more.
The Summer Game Fest Nintendo Direct wasn’t one of the biggest the company has ever delivered. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but it was lacking hefty announcements, outside of the Ocarina of Time: Remake. The Nintendo Direct for the rumored September 2026 window is already brewing rumors and discussion.
When Is The Nintendo Direct For September 2026? Rumored Date & Time, Explained
According to leaks and reports, we could be getting the September 2026 Nintendo Direct on September 10.
I’ll reiterate, these are rumors, reports, and all the usual bits that require a healthy seasoning of ‘a pinch of salt.’ However, in defense of the theories, Nintendo had a September Direct in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025—with 2024 missing out by mere days (August 27, 2024).
Evidence that corroborates the September 10 date is that Just Dance’s socials issued a message about leaked Just Dance: Decade of Hits content, as the franchise has a history of appearing during Directs:
”We’re commmitted to sharing the complete picture with you on September 10, and we sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support in the meantime.’
YouTuber SwitchForce, who has leaked details on previous Nintendo Directs, has said the next one is “Thursday, September 10,” and leaker Nintendo Prime has also said:
‘*cough*. Just so folks know, game has never been revealed outside of Ubisoft Forwards or Nintendo Directs. Ubisoft no longer does Forwards… so like last year, a Direct is it. As I said, lock in 9.10.26. That’s when the direct is. Book it.’

This is based on recent and historical Nintendo Directs, with the odd exception, and Nintendo usually follows a familiar timeframe for them.

What Games Could Feature During Nintendo Direct September 2026?
So far, indicators are that we could see some proper The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake gameplay, Just Dance: Decades of Hits, and new Capcom announcements as part of the showcase.
To reiterate, none of this is official and is based on leaks and speculation. SwitchForce says this will be a “solid Direct,” but will be “lackluster” and “disappointing,” saying to keep expectations in check as there won’t be any groundbreaking announcements or reveals.
I’ve already talked about Just Dance, but circles are speculating that Capcom is set to have a major presence, including new Mega Man details, an Ace Attorney 7 announcement, and Monster Hunter Wilds being announced for the Nintendo Switch 2.
The Ace Attorney 7 rumor has been in the pipeline for a while, and it would be one of the strongest announcements. Stay tuned for official details and more leaks as they drop.
