Team Falcons have been eliminated from The International 2026 after a 2-1 loss to Team Liquid in the lower bracket of the TI 2026 playoffs.

Veteran Falcons Support Andreas ‘Cr1t-‘ Nielsen announced that the Dota 2 event was “probably the last TI” for the TI 2025 winner.

Following an upper bracket shock loss to Nigma Galaxy, Team Falcons fell out of The International 2026 to a charging Liquid roster in a 1-2 series loss, placing 7th/8th at TI 2026.

Following the defeat, Cr1t- was interviewed on broadcast, sharing, “It’s always special. Last time I was here in 2019, it was also special. For me, this is probably the last TI.

“I’m happy to do it here. It’s always amazing to be in China, but fans all around the world cheering. It’s a special thing to be in TI, and I’m going to miss it. It’s been a lot of TIs at this point, and it’s been a pleasure.”

The event was the Danish Support’s 10th TI, having turned pro in 2012, winning TI 2025 with Team Falcons and ESL One Birmingham 2024, alongside several other Dota 2 LANs.

The victories with Falcons added to the Dane’s Major victories with OG before joining EG in 2016, in what would become the longest stint of Cr1t-‘s career, leaving in 2022, finishing third place at TI 2018.

Cr1t-‘s departure from Falcons would signify the end of the record-breaking Falcons roster that has played the most amount of games together in Dota 2 history.

The roster was formed on the 11th of November 2023, resisting the typical Dota 2 urge to blow up a roster at the slightest inconvenience, resulting in Team Falcons beating Alliance’s long-standing record of games together at ESL One Birmingham.

While the roster has been a hugely successful one, Team Falcons have not won a Tier 1 trophy since November 2025, when they won Fissure Playground 2, suffering uncharacteristically poor exits from several events in that time.
