Kingdom Hearts 4 will feature a world based on Pixar’s Coco. A new D23 trailer confirms Sora’s next adventure will visit the Land of the Dead.
The news was confirmed at D23 via a trailer that showcased a world based on the 2017 Pixar film. That movie draws many of its visual cues from the Mexican celebration of Día de los Muertos. As such, Sora is rocking some custom face paint to match the occasion.
When Will Kingdom Hearts 4 Launch?

Kingdom Hearts 4 is slated to launch in late 2027, as confirmed by the trailer, which also revealed Pixar’s Coco’s involvement.
News about the upcoming title has been released in stages. Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts 3 in early 2019. Since then, we haven’t seen much of the fourth mainline installment of the popular series. However, a trailer shown during the most recent Nintendo Direct confirmed that the game would be released simultaneously on the Nintendo Switch 2, as it is on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
We know that this fourth installment will take Sora into a more realistic world that mimics modern-day Tokyo. Still, the most recent trailer confirms that Kingdom Hearts has not lost its Disney Magic, and there is still more for Sora to do alongside Donald Duck, Goofy, and even King Mickey Mouse. All three iconic Disney characters also appeared in the most recent trailer. Mickey even said, “This is a lot of new information.”
