Corsair, already a go-to company for sim racers, has bought all of Melbourne-based simulator cockpit manufacturer Trak Racer’s assets, adding motion systems, physical rigs, and even flight simulation hardware to its existing Fanatec portfolio. The move means Corsair can now offer a complete, end-to-end simulation setup under one roof, covering everything from pedals and wheelbases to full aluminum-profile cockpits and haptic platforms. Sim racers, watch out.
What Trak Racer actually brings to the table
Both companies deal with simulation hardware on a day-to-day basis but their approach is different. Where Fanatec focuses on electronics (such as wheelbases and steering wheels), Trak Racer, which was founded in 2008, takes care of the physical side (such as tubular and aluminum-profile cockpits, and racing seats). Put them together and you’ve got a company that can cover the full hardware chain. If a sim racer needs a steering wheel and a racing seat, they can now get both from the same store. Efficient, easy — it all makes sense.
