Halo: Campaign Evolved has officially launched in early access, but those who splashed out on the Premium Upgrade are being locked out of the title.
The remake of the original Halo campaign has two editions, a Standard and a Premium Edition, with the former included in an XBOX Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscription.
The Premium Edition provides up to five days of early access, and those who own the Standard Edition were given the option to upgrade for $20 to get the additional benefits, but there’s a major problem.
Halo: Campaign Evolved Premium Upgrade Gets ‘You’re Too Early’ Error

The issue has been widely discussed on social media platforms like X and Reddit, and has been confirmed by Insider Gaming, with those who splashed out on the Premium Upgrade told they are too early to play.
Instead, XBOX’s pop-up advises players to visit the store to check the release date, which indicates the July 28 full release. However, the doors should be open for Premium Edition players and those with a Premium Upgrade.
The issue only appears to be affecting those who have the Premium Upgrade, not those who splashed out for the Premium Edition altogether, and won’t affect anyone with a physical copy of the game.
At the time of writing, neither XBOX support nor Halo Studios has commented on the error, nor has a fix been identified. We’ll update this article accordingly when more is said.
