EA Sports has released the reveal trailer for NHL 27, and with it comes confirmation of some of the new features in this year’s game.

Releasing on September 4 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, NHL 27 will feature San Jose Sharks superstar Macklin Celebrini on the cover. It’s the first time that a Sharks player has been on the cover since Owen Nolan for NHL 2001.

But the cover’s just part of the package. What can players expect from the game itself?

Online Franchise is Back

One of the first features confirmed for NHL 27 is a new broadcast presentation. ESPN’s John Buccigross and TNT’s Darren Pang will call the action moving forward, and the game will also introduce new broadcast graphics and in-arena presentation.

The biggest new feature from the trailer, however, was the reveal that online franchise is back. For the first time since NHL 14, the series will allow players to take part in a connected franchise with friends. More details on what Connected Franchise has to offer will come closer to launch.

Other features include NHL team playbooks and authentic arena atmospheres.
