Wooden Boards are a new material added in Palworld’s 1.0 update and are required for a host of items. Fortunately, they don’t require any high-end resources or building environments.

Wooden Boards must be crafted on at least a High-Quality Workbench, so you need to upgrade from your initial Workbench, and require the following items to craft:

  • 10x Wood
  • 5x Fiber
  • 1x Nail

Wood and Fiber are easy resources to gather, both being available to collect from trees, but Nails take a bit of a longer process due to prerequisites.

Nails require an Iron Ingot to craft, which requires Ore to be collected and smelted at a Furnace. This means there are two steps to complete before you can even get to crafting a Wooden Board, but as Iron Ingots are a crucial resource in the game, you should be striving to have a stable supply as soon as possible.

What Are Wooden Boards Used For in Palworld?

Wooden Boards are a material widely used in Palworld as you advance from the early game into the next stage, before they themselves become outdated by higher-tier materials.

Several weapons, including the Primitive Sword, Refined Metal Axe, and Refined Metal Pickaxe all require Wooden Boards to craft, while the material is also required to build key crafting areas, including a Weapon Assembly Line, a Production Assembly Line, and a Weapon Workbench.

Other constructs requiring Wooden Boards to build include the Breeding Farm, Clinic, Cooking Pot, Fishing Pond, and Pal Expedition Station.

Eventually, the need for Wooden Boards is phased out and replaced with the High Quality Wooden Board, which comes into rotation when you reach the point of having a Production Assembly Line II.
