A new set of footage and animations from the canceled DOOM 4 project has been spotted.

DOOM 4 was apparently supposed to take a step towards a military shooter; however, it was seemingly canceled in 2013 to make way for the reboot. Since then, we have seen several videos, concept art, and other details surface online, showing what the game could have been, and we have now received details on assets reused in the latest title.

A whole bunch of DOOM 4 footage and animations have surfaced online courtesy of Crispies on X (formerly Twitter). Spotted on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, there’s a whole list of videos players can see that will give them an idea of how much of Doom 4 was already done. It includes Possessed soldier animations, their human voice lines, the enemy combines, all allies and enemy animations, and more.

Players also get to see development footage of several demons, including the wounded animations for the Imp, what appears to be an intro cutscene for the Soul Swallower, and an unknown female demon with tentacles.

Canceled DOOM 4 Assets and Weapon Models Reused in Revelations DLC for Flashback Sequences

Interestingly, some assets from the canceled DOOM 4 have been spotted in the latest DOOM: The Dark Ages DLC, Revelations. There are two weapons spotted, both in Flynn Taggart’s flashback sequences. One’s an assault rifle, and the other is a minigun, and it seems like “same weapons, same vehicles, and identical urban-style environments” have also been used in the DLC.
