Some truly huge changes are coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 9, in what is shaping up to be the biggest update the game has ever seen. Team-Ups as you know them are soon to be a thing of the past, as the mechanic has received an entire overhaul with Season 9.
Now, every character receives two Team-Up abilities, with tons of new abilities and buffs added to the game. The craziest part? You don’t even need the other member of the Team-Up active on your team to receive the upgrades!
It’s bound to be a monumental shift for every player, and there are simply so many new abilities to wrap your head around. So, without further ado, here’s every new Team-Up ability and buff for each Strategist in Marvel Rivals, as well as a detailed explanation of the overall Team-Up changes.
How Have Team-Ups Changed In Marvel Rivals?

Team-Ups have seen a complete overhaul with the release of Season 9, and it might be confusing to wrap your head around. Here’s a comprehensive explanation of the changes.
From the start of Season 9, every hero in Marvel Rivals will now have two active Team-Up abilities, with most of them being entirely new to the game. However, only one Team-Up ability can be equipped at a time, though you can freely switch between them in the spawn room.
The neat part? All Team-Up abilities can be used regardless of whether the partner character is on your team. That said, if they are on your team, your Team-Up ability will have an enhanced effect, essentially buffing said ability.
From here on out, Team-Up abilities will not rotate as they have done in the past; instead, they’ll be subject to strict balancing as each ability is monitored from launch.
As you can imagine, with every character essentially getting two new abilities, there’s going to be a steep learning curve again. With that in mind, it’s time to check out the upgrades made to the Strategists.
Every New Strategist Team-Up Ability In Marvel Rivals
With 12 Strategists currently in Marvel Rivals, that means there are 24 new Team-Up abilities to get to grips with.
As things stand, official descriptions aren’t available for either the Team-Up abilities or the enhanced effects. Until the patch notes come out, I’ve provided a brief description of the effect, but the table will be updated once more is available.
