GTA 6 Will Reportedly Have a Physical Disc Release in December 2026

A new report has claimed that GTA 6 will have a physical disc release just one month after its initial launch.

The new report comes from ppe.pl, which has accurately reported on past physical game releases.

GTA 6 Physical Release Date

According to the outlet, GTA 6 will have a physical disc release in December 2026, despite the game originally being said to have no physical release. While ppe.pl has been shaky as of late with its leaks, it has accurately leaked other physical game release announcements, as its “source” is someone who obtains information from the backend of a retail store.

The news that GTA 6’s current physical release will only include a code in the box has understandably not gone down well with the gaming community, as it sets a precedent for other game publishers.

In theory, if people are simply ‘not bothered’ by a code in the box, it could mark the end of publishers releasing games on discs, meaning that physical game media will die out.

What’s likely, though, is that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have made the conscious choice not to release a disc version of GTA 6 day and date to prevent leaks. While the game can be locked with a day-one patch, a disc version on launch will undoubtedly see discs being sold at a premium weeks before its intended release date.

PlayStation has been marketed as the best place to play GTA 6, with practically no loading screens on the PS5, as well as an unannounced suite of PS5 Pro enhancements.

GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, on the Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5.
