GIANTX Bring Flakked Back to LEC After Noah and Lot Dropped

GIANTX have confirmed the promotion of Víctor ‘Flakked’ Lirola Tortosa to their LEC roster at the expense of Oh ‘Noah’ Hyeon-taek.

And toplaner Eren ‘Lot’ Yıldız has also been benched, with former Fnatic pro Óscar ‘Oscarinin’ Muñoz expected to replace him.

GIANTX has sported the same League of Legends roster for over a year and a half, but has failed to finish higher than fourth in LEC Playoffs.

The organisation is making these changes ahead of the LEC Summer Split, with all of their players’ contracts expiring in November this year.

It’s also believed that Noah and Korean support Yoon ‘Jun’ Se-jun may have to return to Korea to complete military service next year.

Why GIANTX Dropped Noah and Lot

GIANTX’s esports director, David ‘Lozark’ Alonso, explained why the Spanish organization decided to drop two of the players from its long-term project.

Lozark says the decision wasn’t easy but “necessary” and explained that the players had called for change themselves:

“Part of the responsibility is ours. We’ve been carrying nearly two years with practically the same group of players and, to be honest, we haven’t managed to create the environment and atmosphere to get the best out of these two players.

“Almost unanimously, the team was calling for a change, and that’s our failure.”

Lozark also revealed that they had tried to trade Noah and Lot so that they still had teams, but says it wasn’t possible.

“We need a change in dynamics and atmosphere in the team’s day-to-day… being Top 4 three splits in a row doesn’t do us any good. We have to take risks,” he added.

According to a report by Sheep Esports, Oscarinin will join Flakked as the new members of the roster, which will be:

• Oscarinin
• Isma
• Jackies
• Flakked
• Jun

It was also reported that GIANTX had also considered Team Vitality ADC Matyáš ‘Carzzy’ Orság but decided to promote Flakked instead.

Vitality just dropped Marek ‘Humanoid’ Brázda in an LEC roster change of their own.

Meanwhile, Spanish toplaner Oscarinin has not played for two splits after being dropped by Fnatic.

He is still contracted with the organisation, and Fnatic almost had three toplaners as they search for a Korean toplaner to replace Panagiotis ‘Empyros’ Tantis.
