Team Vitality has announced that Czech midlaner Marek ‘Humanoid’ Brázda has been benched ahead of the LEC Summer Split.
The experienced League of Legends pro looked like he had made the difference for the team, finishing first in the Spring regular season.
Yet, Vitality then crashed and burned in the Spring Playoffs and were eliminated early from the Esports World Cup qualifiers as well.
This is now the second year in a row that Humanoid has been benched before the Summer Split, as Fnatic did the same in 2025.

Vitality LEC Woes
Other than a Week 1 loss to Karmine Corp, Team Vitality didn’t lose a single regular season series, finishing 8-1 before the Playoffs.
Yet, in the Playoffs, Vitality didn’t win a single game, losing 3-0 to Movistar KOI and then GIANTX. The first seeds were the first team eliminated.
And they had missed on EWC after a shock 2-0 loss to Shifters in the online qualifiers.
After taking a break during the Summer Split last year, it had looked like Humanoid was returning to form.
Humanoid was the first-ever European player to make Worlds three years in a row without playing for G2 or Fnatic, doing so with Splyce and MAD Lions.
However, he has also always been known as a player who is very inconsistent and prone to random deaths, and that seems to still be the case much later into his career.
Meanwhile, Vitality as an organisation hasn’t attended Worlds since 2018 and is now taking drastic measures, dropping assistant coach Luka ‘Lukezy’ Trumbić too.
Who is Replacing Humanoid?
According to reports by Sheep Esports, Vitality are considering a Korean replacement for their LEC mid lane position.
While no names have been confirmed, it’s said that the organisation also looked at France’s LFL and, specifically, Solary’s Kang ‘Jool’ Dong-su and Galions’ Šimon ‘OMON’ Řiháč.
Similarly, Fnatic is looking to Korea for a new LEC toplaner after benching Panagiotis ‘Empyros’ Tantis.
Assumedly, both are looking in Korea’s second tier, the LCK Challengers League.
