Zelda Voice Actress Weighs In on the 2027 Live-Action Film

The voice behind Princess Zelda has commented on the 2027 movie and explained why she doesn’t have too many words of wisdom for the actress portraying the princess of Hyrule on the big screen.

Patricia Summersett has been the English voice of Princess Zelda since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in 2017. Now, she’s commenting on the forthcoming 2027 live-action film based on the franchise and what she hopes for the actress portraying Zelda on the big screen.

Zelda Voice Actress Sends Sweet Message to 2027 Movie Star

The upcoming film is slated to release on April 30, 2027. In that movie, Bo Bragason will be portraying Princess Zelda alongside Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. The film’s overall plot and how much it will take from and add to the Zelda universe’s lore remain largely unknown.

That is what excites Patricia Summersett the most. In an interview with GameXplain, the voice actress said she’s excited to see the film and doesn’t have much advice for Bragason; instead, she wants to congratulate her and hopes she gets to make an impact on the franchise.

“I’m excited to see what the lore is and the sort of flashbacks and like how they give ode to other games or the franchise itself. It’s really hard to tell what they’re going to include in that. It’s going to be incredibly lush for sure and incredibly well thought through and studied… Obviously, Bo Bragason, she’s going to be incredible. You just know it. So, I’m excited for I don’t know her, and I don’t claim to know her or want to give her any advice except for huge congratulations and like welcome to an incredible fandom. I know what it’s been for me. I’m sure it’s just going to be huge for her,” she said.

In the video game space, the big talk around the Zelda franchise is the upcoming remake of Ocarina of Time, coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. However, as with the movie, not much is known about that title yet.
