A flurry of recent reports suggests that, despite being announced recently, we won’t have to wait long for God of War: Laufey. The newest indication that this is true comes from Sony and PlayStation themselves.

God of War Laufey was the bombshell announcement that wrapped up the June 2026 State of Play. It’s a GOW spin-off, which goes in the development pipeline along with the God of War Trilogy Remake. However, whilst the trilogy is still some time off, Laufey feels much closer.

We recently mentioned how gamers are convinced that God of War: Laufey is releasing soon. This followed a recent report from an insider that Laufey ‘Could’ release as soon as early 2027!

The newest evidence that it could be coming out in early 2027, or sooner, is new Sony PlayStation emails being sent out.

I received the same email, and it said:

‘Death was supposed to be the end, but for Laufey (Faye), warrior and wife to Kratos, a new adventure is just beginning. Join her in the Everywhen, a land of dangerous magic, as she fights through the afterlife of the gods to save the ones she loves in God of War Laufey™ – coming soon to PlayStation®5 consoles.

Again, this comes JUST after changing the company’s marketing and branding to GOW Laufey already. With Wolverine not far away, you’d think that would be the focus of marketing right now.

Is Laufey really coming sooner than everyone thinks? Or is the company being deliberately vague?
