XBOX’s Chief Content Officer has recently commented on Elder Scrolls 6’s reveal, and it seems to be shaping up well, but a reveal doesn’t seem close.

We already know that Elder Scrolls 6’s release is a long way off, as revealed by Todd Howard back in 2025. However, players have been craving for new information on the next installment of the highly revered Bethesda series for 8 years now. It seems that the developers won’t reveal it until it’s the right time.

In a recent interview with Variety, Matt Booty, XBOX CCO, was asked about the reveal of Elder Scrolls 6 and how fans anticipated its announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. Booty mentioned that he had visited Bethesda, where he met Todd Howard and observed Elder Scrolls being played. He said, “It looks amazing, and it’s coming along well.” Regarding the announcement, he noted that the team will “make sure to announce it and really reveal it at the right time.”

It has been 8 years since the initial announcement, and the players have close to no information about the upcoming title. The announcement trailer featured nothing but a vast expanse of land filled with scenic mountains, a whole lot of greenery, a large body of water, and more. The trailer ended with the Elder Scrolls 6 title being shown. That’s all we have to go on for now, and the game is powered by Creation Engine 3.

In other news, in a behind-closed-doors preview of Infestations, Bethesda explained why the new Fallout 76 update is so important. Additionally, former Bethesda veteran Pete Hines has explained why he left the company after a quarter of a century.
