The Final Fantasy 7 Remake series director revealed that Revelation features choices but has a ‘singular ending’.

After years of anticipation, Square Enix has finally revealed the next installment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. They also provided players with a release window for all platforms, along with some new gameplay footage. However, there is still much more to learn about the title before its release, and some of these details have been shared in a recent interview.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s Journey Might Differ, But Ending Will be the Same for Everyone

In a new interview with GamesRadar+, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation director Naoki Hamaguchi discussed the game’s singular ending despite its choices. Hamaguchi first discussed how they do not wish to have a “singular storytelling experience for every single player around the world.” Instead, they wish to provide a unique experience for each player joining them for the finale.

Hamaguchi explains that a player’s choices in the game will affect specific moments when each character faces their final battle. The story will reflect their resolve as they head into the “final battle that determines the fate of the planet”. The goal of these choices is to change the approach and depth of these moments for the characters in the final chapter.

At the same time, the director understands that there will be “a lot of attention” on how the final chapter ends and how everything plays out. No details on the ending were revealed, but it was confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will have a “singular ending.” Which means that how you get to the ending might differ, but all roads will eventually lead to the same end.

In other news, Final Fantasy 11 developers are researching ways to bypass technical limits that currently block new areas and future expansion. Additionally, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3’s director has confirmed that they have left the door open for DLC. What are your thoughts on Final Fantasy 7 Revelation having a singular ending?
