Fnatic have announced that its Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) team is parting ways with its longest-serving player, Freddy ‘KRIMZ’ Johansson.
The Swede originally joined Fnatic in 2014 and spent a total of 12 years across two stints with the organisation, but has now decided to leave.
KRIMZ spent a total of 4,288 days with Fnatic, barely missing out on the record for the longest-ever consecutive tenure on one team because of a two-month stint on GODSENT in 2016.
Fnatic’s remaining CS2 roster is now made up entirely of Ukrainian players.
It’s expected that another Ukranian will be added to Rodyon ‘fear’ Smyk, Dmytro ‘jambo’ Semera,Mykyta ‘jackasmo’ Skyba, and Viktor ‘Br4tkO’ Kondratets.
KRIMZ’s Fnatic Farewell
KRIMZ shared an emotional message on social media following the announcement that he is leaving, admitting it was a “tough decision.”
“A massive thank you to Fnatic for believing in me, supporting my growth, and making my childhood dream a reality. Going from watching my idols as a kid to actually sharing the jersey with them is more than I ever could have imagined.”
He then thanked Fnatic fans and told them to remain positive about the remaining core of CS players:
“I know it’s been a rough ride lately, but I want you to know that we showed up and put the work in every single day. Sometimes things don’t go your way, but I can honestly say I gave it everything I had until the very last day.
“I’m leaving with my head held high and I’ll always look back on my time at Fnatic knowing I left everything out there.”
Within his 12 years on the organisation, KRIMZ recorded quite a collection of accolades and achievements, as shared by Fnatic:
- 2414 Maps played for Fnatic
- 4282 Days in Black and Orange
- 2x Major Titles
- 21 notable trophies
- 3x IEM Katowice titles
- 5x HLTV Top 20 appearances
- Longest-serving player in Fnatic History
It’s not yet known where KRIMZ will end up next. He has had an impressive career, but his recent form hasn’t been the best.
