ARC Raiders PvE ‘Rebellion’ Map Condition Being Tested in China

Embark Studios has just deployed the first round of tests for an all-new Chinese version of ARC Raiders, the sensational extraction adventure title that was released in October 2025. It’s slated to come to China with a separate, amended version of the game, which is pretty typical for shooters dropping in the region.

Eagle-eyed fans have seemingly uncovered a new map condition called ‘Rebellion Incident’, which appears to reference a unique mode in which players cannot inherently damage other players until they instigate a deliberate ‘rebellion’. At which point they’re painted as traitors and marked by the lobby.

This is exactly the kind of map condition that PvE players dream of.

Is Embark Studios Testing More PvE Content for ARC Raiders?

The tests for ARC Raiders in China have uncovered two new map conditions that are being discussed on Chinese social media platforms. There’s a PvE-focused condition called Rebellion Incident and another called Double King (or Queen), which seems to introduce both a Queen and a Matriarch on the same map, at the same time.

Other names that have surfaced in translation are ‘Safe Zone’ and ‘Dual Boss’.

In a post on Western social media, one user admitted that ARC Raiders is not popular in China but that there is a ‘group of loyal fans’ exploring the new Chinese version of the game. They then provided screenshots of the new map conditions.

They explained, based on translations of content on a Chinese forum:

Rebellion event is almost a low-difficulty mode, but there are a lot of resources in this mode. In this mode, players default that friendly troops cannot harm each other, but they can choose “rebellion” and then the map will announce that there are rebels somewhere.

Further investigation reveals a mode that will paint ‘traitors’ with a red icon on the compass or in-game map when they betray their fellow raiders. This is exactly how PvE-focused fans of ARC Raiders envisioned such a mode surfacing, and it may appear on the traditional platform at some point.
