An open-world game in India isn’t something you see too often, and while the setting is quite unique, the premise is familiar: Infiltrate a gangster network, work as an agent for the government, complete jobs and side hustles, and build your name and brand in a big open world.

Project Madras is ‘a celebration of India’s culture, language, emotions and spirit.’

There’s a real, vibrant, open world here to explore, and it could be a very special one you can get involved with via a new playtest. Full details are below, revealed during the Insider Gaming Showcase.

  • Side Missions & Street Activities:
    • Optional jobs and gigs that feed progression and world engagement.
  • Semi-Linear Open World Structure:
    • Free exploration with controlled Cinematic Missions within the open world.
  • Authentic World:
    • A dense urban space inspired by Chennai with local details and Crowd behavior.
