When Does The Witcher 3 Songs Of The Past Expansion DLC Release?

It’s been over a decade since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released, but that doesn’t mean CD Projekt Red are done with it just yet, as a new expansion has officially been announced.

Titled Songs of the Past, players will join Geralt once more before a new journey begins in The Witcher 4 with Ciri. Of course, with how good the past two expansions were, it’s got fans incredibly excited to dive back into The Witcher 3, but when should you clear your calendars for?

Here’s when the Songs of the Past expansion is due to release for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

When Does The Witcher 3 Songs Of The Past Release?

All that’s been shared by CD Projekt Red is that Songs of the Past will release sometime in 2027, with no specific release date shared for the upcoming Witcher 3 expansion.

It’s been rumored for months now that a new Witcher 3 expansion was in the works, with a May 2026 release window at the heart of the leaks. Of course, with the news breaking in May, that couldn’t be further from the truth, and instead, we’re left guessing what time next year the long-awaited DLC will arrive.

Given that it’s being co-developed by Fools Theory, a team filled with Witcher veterans and behind Thaumaturge, the DLC shouldn’t interrupt the development of The Witcher 4. Instead, it should be a nice bonus, and it’s even rumored to bridge the gap between the third and fourth game.

When Will We See More Of The Witcher 3 Songs Of The Past?

According to CD Projekt Red, we can expect to see more of Songs of the Past late this Summer.

As things stand, not much is known about the upcoming expansion, other than its release window and name. Naturally, fans want to know exactly what’s in store for them next year with Songs of the Past, but you might have to wait a while to find out.

Summer typically ends around late August/early September, so it’s safe to assume new details will emerge around then. With Gamescom Opening Night Live taking place on August 25, is there a chance a trailer could debut there? Time will surely tell.
