Marvel Rivals developers have confirmed that rumors about bypassing their anti-cheat are untrue. The developers have also perma-banned cheaters.
One of the biggest problems in multiplayer games is cheating, which negatively impacts the experience for everyone involved, including both developers and players. NetEase has a zero-tolerance policy towards cheaters, and a recent blog post outlines their approach to dealing with these offenders.
There is No Way to Bypass Anti-Cheat in Marvel Rivals
A new blog post from the developers of Marvel Rivals has addressed rumors about disabling the game’s anti-cheat features. They clarify that players cannot bypass the anti-cheat system by altering settings, as the security software runs alongside the game. The only option available to players is to disable the anti-cheat pop-up window; however, the anti-cheat software itself cannot be turned off. Check out the complete statement below:
“Rumors circulating online claiming that the anti-cheat system can be bypassed using launch parameters are completely false. Our anti-cheat launches concurrently with the game client and cannot be disabled independently. The parameter in question merely hides the pop-up window; it does not deactivate the anti-cheat software in any capacity.”
The blog post also talks about how they are dealing with these cheaters. Through their investigation, the developers have found players using cheats, illicit assist programs, and client tampering. These offenders will be served with permanent bans, and the developers have also provided a list of cheaters whose signatures have been registered in their automated penalty systems.
Repeated offenders who distribute cheats or evade penalties will be dealt with more severely. They will be served with, but not limited to, account, device, and IP bans.
In other news, Cyclops and Devil Dinosaur are confirmed to be joining Marvel Rivals during Season 8, now titled Sins of Alchemax. Additionally, the free-to-play game aims to be an extension of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a comprehensive moving anime.
