McDonald’s in Japan has launched a new crossover campaign with Mega Man. The promotion is intended to spotlight the premium roast iced coffee.
At the heart of the campaign was a new commercial for the product featuring a rendition of Team Nekokan’s “Can’t Beat Air Man.” The commercial features an 8-bit sprite of the character known as Rockman in Japan as he fights a possessed McCafe machine, then orders an iced coffee and strolls into a McDonald’s to get it.

The campaign also has Mega Man mobile wallpapers for customers who want to use their My McDonald’s rewards points. Some of the wallpapers include the logo for the upcoming Mega Man dual override game, and 8-bit versions of Mega Man and Dr. Wily
At the 2025 Game Awards, it was announced that Mega Man would be returning in the aforementioned Dual Override game. That game is due out in 2027. Also, several classic Mega Man games are available now on the Nintendo Switch, PC, XBOX, and Sony PlayStation consoles. The latest release in the franchise is the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection. Released in March 2026, the collection includes seven games from the series, additional illustrations, and more.
