A listing for Fable has appeared on the South Korean ratings portal, hinting that a release date announcement could be around the corner.

It was recently speculated that Fable was being delayed to 2027 after a new rumor surfaced online; however, the developers have since confirmed that these rumors are false. At the same time, players have been eagerly awaiting a release date announcement, and it seems it could arrive at any time now.

Fable Receives Age-Restricted Rating in South Korea

As spotted by the KoreaXBOXnews account on X (formerly Twitter), a rating for Fable has appeared on South Korea’s classification website. The title has received a rating of 19 and up, which means it is restricted for teenagers. The reasons for providing this rating are the following:

  • Language that directly expresses sexual acts.
  • Killing frequently with weapons, depiction of blood and bodily harm.
  • Players’ choices expressing direct criminal acts
  • Excessive use of vulgar and profane language

Additionally, the title description states, “The game is an immersive open-world action RPG where the player embarks on an adventure to resolve a crisis after villagers are mysteriously turned to stone by a stranger.”

Usually, when a game starts receiving ratings in particular countries, it means the developers are closing in on a release date announcement, and the upcoming XBOX Games Showcase event in June might be the perfect occasion. However, no official announcement has been made by Playground Games.

In other news, the Blizzard Cinematics team is helping with Fable’s development. Additionally, the Fable reboot coming to Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t 100% confirmed, but it is under consideration. What are your thoughts on Fable’s rating appearing on the South Korean classification website?
