With a double-barrel offering from Treyarch behind us, it’s time for another Call of Duty studio to have its time in the spotlight. We’ve known for a while that Modern Warfare 4 is probably happening, and all signs are pointing to an Infinity Ward announcement very soon.

After the shocking ending of 2023’s MW3, it’s about time we got the follow-up. Rumors have suggested Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will release in October 2026, but the wait for official confirmation appears to be close.

I feel everyone has a bit of Black Ops fatigue now after the last two years, so it would be good to return to some Modern Warfare!

It’s surely happening, and although many leaks have come out about the proposed sequel already, many of them have been debunked. So we need something real and for Activision to stop GHOSTing us.

Which leads us onto Infinity Ward’s recent statement on social media:

‘We are Infinty Ward.

We build visceral, immersive combat experiences that hit different.

As a new chapter begins for this studio, we’re focused on what defines us: passion, precision, obsession, and an unrelenting drive to make the best entertainment in the industry.

Our next game is the result of that mindset.

Determined. Bold. Relentless. Built by a team pushing every detail, every system, every moment to its limit.

On behalf of everyone at IW, we’re proud of what we’ve been building and excited to finally start sharing it with you.

It’s usually around Summer Game Fest season when the next CoD game is announced, and there’s usually a nice, juicy campaign trailer shown off during the multiple-day gaming festival.

Stay tuned for an inevitable and official Modern Warfare 4 announcement.
