ARC Raiders has been affected by cheaters for the longest time, and Embark is finally addressing the issue. Before that smile etches across your face, you might be interested to know about the game’s inclusion of Denuvo.
The ARC Raiders player count continues to dwindle, and it’s not helped that the next major ARC Raiders update has been pushed to October as content slows down.
One of the more positive changes the developer is making should provide you with cleaner lobbies, to an extent, but it does mean adding Denuvo.
Denuvo Anti-Cheat Coming to ARC Raiders

Outside of content conversations, one of the most common, recurring happenings in ARC Raiders is cheating.
Surprise, surprise, another popular online shooter with hackers and people cruelly intent on ruining your fun. Why they do it, I’ve no idea, but it happens, and ARC has strangely let the issue go on for so long.
A new mini-update has arrived with patch notes to boot. In between the Rascal Grenade Launcher and Embark walking back durability changes, there’s news on anti-cheat measures.
Here’s what the ARC Raiders 1.29.0 patch notes said:
“Following a positive rollout in THE FINALS, Denuvo Anti-Cheat will also come to ARC Raiders starting May 19th, initially to a limited player pool, with plans to expand after close monitoring.
We will not be using Denuvo’s Digital Rights Management (DRM) service, and are working to ensure minimal impact on performance.
With Denuvo Anti-Cheat and Anybrain, we are working to strengthen ARC Raiders’ systems even further. Keep sending us reports of any information that you believe might help us do so, it’s highly appreciated.”
So, Denuvo is being added, BUT not the DRM aspect that PC players despise. Denuvo is commonly associated with (allegedly) tanking performance on computers and is a necessary evil to stop digital game theft.
DRM won’t be in effect here, hence the bit about ‘minimal impact on performance.’
So, it’s not the end-of-the-world news you were probably dreading! It’s bizarre that it’s taken so long for anti-cheat to come to ARC Raiders, and let us know what you think about the shooter via the Insider Gaming Discord.
The Insider Gaming Showcase is coming up very soon, and you should definitely check it out!
