oDin Steps Down as DN SOOPers Coach After Historic Loss-Streak

Ju ‘oDin’ Yeong-dal has taken “responsibility” and left DN SOOPers after a historically disastrous run of results, which have seen the org lose 13 LCK series in a row, not winning a single game in that time.

The organization announced that Yu ‘Ggoong’ Byeong-jun will take his place as interim coach while the organization looks for a replacement.

DN SOOPers’ 2026 dream becomes a disaster

DN SOOPers came into 2026 with a vastly revitalized roster that looked to up the team’s competitive threat. The organization signed not one but two Worlds 2025 Grand Finalists, securing the signatures of former KT Rolster Bot Lane duo Seo ‘deokdam’ Dae-gil and Jeong ‘Peter’ Yoon-su.

The ambitious move was viewed as a boon for DN SOOPers and a blow to KT Rolster’s ability to help their star mid-laner Gwak ‘Bdd’ Bo-sung in the server. A fifth-placed finish in the LCK Cup gave DN SOOPers reasonable room for optimism, contrasting with KT’s 8th-9th placed finish, which prompted fan doom and gloom.

A few short months later, KT Rolster sits with an 11-3 record in the LCK Regular Season; DN SOOPers sit at a 1-13 record, with their only series win and only games in the LCK coming in a 2-0 opening series win against KRX.

The roster has not won a series or even a single game since then, resulting in the removal of Peter and temporary promotion of Son ‘Quantum’ Jung-hwan, who was then himself replaced by Kim ‘Life’ Jeong-min.

Recent LCK matches have also seen DN SOOPers Challengers player Kwak ‘Enosh’ Kyu-jun in place of deokdam; however, deokdam did play the EWC qualifiers.

Regardless of the configuration, the roster lost on the server in the LCK, completing a 0-26 run in their last 13 series.

The org was also eliminated from Esports World Cup contention, managing a single win against DRX in the Play-in before regressing to their mean, losing 0-2 to Hanwha Life Esports and Nongshim RedForce to bomb out of EWC contention.

With the roster trying every other possible change, it seems like oDin decided the change needed was himself, stating in the public statement, “I have decided to leave the team to take responsibility as head coach for the poor results. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the players who trusted and followed me, as well as to the fans who supported us.”
