Epic Games to Release ARC Raiders-Style Disney Game This Year

Epic Games is pinning a Fortnite resurgence on the Disney partnership. Recently, Epic laid off 1,000 employees and announced it would shut down several Fortnite game modes.

Now, a new report provides some insight into what’s next for the company, and the hope that partnering with the Walt Disney Company can provide a boost.

Epic Planning Disney-Themed ARC Raiders-Like Shooter

According to a new report from Bloomberg, four current and former Epic employees say the company is on track to launch the first game in its new Disney partnership in November. The game is slated to be an Extraction Shooter like ARC Raiders. Disney characters are slated to battle enemies until they reach an extraction point.

However, there could be trouble on the horizon.

“So far, internal reviewers have expressed concerns that the game mechanics are not very original, but some of the employees are optimistic that Epic will get it right by the launch date,” the report says.

This is a developing story and will be updated shortly.
