PlayStation’s ‘Dynamic Pricing’ Nearly Doubles Prices Of Some Games

More examples of Sony PlayStation’s dynamic pricing have come to the fore, with evidence showing that it’s real, and in some cases, you might have to pay almost double what other people will pay for the same game on the PS Store.

We need to go all the way back to November 2025, when the discussion about PlayStation’s rumored dynamic game pricing surfaced. It had actually been going on a little while before this, and it doesn’t look like the strategy is being changed anytime soon.

PlayStation Store Dynamic Pricing Is Real

Insider Gaming has seen first-hand examples of PlayStation-exclusive titles being offered at wildly different prices compared to different customers.

The determining factors behind the discounts seem to be predicated on your account, potentially how old it is, how recently you’ve logged in, and more.

Look at the example below.

You can see the official Stellar Blade discount, and what an Insider Gaming writer was actually offered—the writer was offered a 70% discount compared to the 43% offer many of you are presented with.

Here’s example 1.

Now for the bigger discount offer.

Same day. Same user. Same game. Different deals. Basic maths shows this is near-enough a 50% price difference!

It does only seem to be happening with first-party PlayStation titles for the time being, though. However, if one person is getting the chance to buy the game for $39.89, whereas someone else can snap it up for $20.99, then there’s definite room for complaint.
