EA Names Battlefield 6 ‘The Best-Selling Shooter of the Year’

When you head onto the Electronic Arts website and specifically navigate to the Battlefield 6 section, you’ll see a banner declaring that the all-new first-person game is the ‘best-selling shooter game of the year’. This bold claim is a slap in the face to the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and ARC Raiders, but Battlefield fans are lapping it up.

Electronic Arts is showing gratitude to the fans, as without them, the game wouldn’t have been a success. It’s probably not the 100 million players they anticipated, but it’s safe to assume that the company’s numbers are correct, given how much of a soaring success Battlefield 6 was at launch.

Battlefield 6 is a Best-Selling Shooter, Sure

Battlefield 6 has been viewed by many as a saving grace for the floundering franchise that found itself in a string of sticky spots over the last decade. It never seemed that the series could come back in such an impressive fashion, but here we are.

It took an overwhelming amount of work from several core studios to bring Battlefield 6 to life, and while it’s not perfect, it’s the best the series has looked in many years.

If you check out the Battlefield 6 page on Electronic Arts’ website, you’ll notice that it has been dubbed the best-selling shooter game of the year. It has been a stiff year for competition, especially of late, as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and ARC Raiders have sold millions of copies between them.

That’s just in the last three weeks, too.

Battlefield 6 has plenty left to give. It’s assumed it’ll be supported for years to come, especially with Electronic Arts having delivered REDSEC, the new battle royale experience that seeks to rival the likes of Call of Duty: Warzone.
