Gauntlet Mode brings a faster-paced edge to Battlefield 6’s more traditional BR, and the REDSEC game mode variation is a lot of fun, more so if you know how it works and how to win.

REDSEC has dropped in with its core battle royale adventure. Whereas Gauntlet Mode is attached to REDSEC, but it’s a different team-based beast where you’re left breathless for the entire game. Quickfire matches and concentrated objectives mean you need to work together, or risk elimination.

This explainer runs through the whole setup, what missions you can face, and how to progress without even winning.

Battlefield 6’s Gauntlet Mode splits you into a handful of smaller teams, and you need to score enough points in each mission until you’re the last team left standing.

Before we get into this deeper, check out the key fundamentals of Gauntlet Mode:

  • It’s team-based gameplay.
  • You score points for eliminations.
  • You also score points for completing mission parameters.
  • You need to be in the top few teams of each mission to advance to the next one.
  • If you’re not, your squad is eliminated.
  • The top player of losing squads has a chance of being redeployed to one of the progressing teams.
  • There are infinite respawns.
  • No circle.
  • Each mission is different.

Think of Gauntlet like a more objective-based Rebirth Island from Warzone. There are battle royale-esque elimination components, but with smaller maps, respawning, and no circle.

Your team must constantly progress through each mission by completing objectives and being one of the top-scoring teams, and then you must prevail in the final round to win Gauntlet in Battlefield 6 REDSEC.

In our matches, we’ve encountered the same few missions: Decryption, Deadlock, Extraction, etc. They involve securing and decrypting beacons, capturing and holding zones for points, and extracting data drives.

Complete all four missions and win the final objective for your team to be the victor of Gauntlet Mode.

You have a chance to automatically progress to the next mission and be reassigned to another advancing team if any squad has space in its roster, and you were the top points scorer in your eliminated squad.

This is a great incentive to play well. If your teammates aren’t the best, you can take solace in the fact that a fine individual performance can gift you a reprieve. That’s happened to me in one of my early games as I bossed Mission 2 by scoring many points in Deadlock by holding down zones. Even though my team lost, I advanced and was reassigned to another team!

So never give up hope in Gauntlet Mode!

Let us know how you get on in Gauntlet. Do you think it’s more than just a welcome distraction for REDSEC’s battle royale mode? Do you see the comparison to Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep? Share your thoughts through the Insider Gaming Discord.
