How to farm Candy in Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost

Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost brings scary vibes and new loot. As always, the main currency in this event is Candy, which you can earn by completing activities and then exchange for rewards at Eva Levante in the Tower.

Before farming Candy, make sure to have your Masquerader’s Helm (Festival of the Lost mask) equipped, as only then will the enemies drop Candy. Unfortunately, that means builds involving Exotic helmets aren’t as viable for farming, but masks drop at higher Tiers and have a dedicated Mod slot to choose a set bonus, so you can make them a part of other builds.

With the mask equipped, here are the best ways to farm Candy in Destiny 2 during Festival of the Lost.

Haunted Altars of Sorrow

Haunted Altars is a new Festival of the Lost activity. It’s a spooky version of Altars of Sorrow with new objectives and defenses from Onslaught. One run of Haunted Altars can net you around 1,000 Candy, including all the Candy that drops from enemies during the activity.

Haunted Altars may take a little while to complete, but you also get multiple event weapons as a completion reward, so it’s by far the best way to farm Candy this year, enough to quickly get a couple of Exotic class items.

Red Rum(ble)

For PvP players, there’s also the Red Rum(ble) mode, which is similar to a regular Rumble but with the Headless One roaming the map. The Headless One attacks players while occasionally leaving behind ammo and sometimes even relics. One semi-decent Rumble match can give you around 250 Candy.

Portal activities

Finally, you can play regular Portal activities, which include Solo Ops, Fireteam Ops, Pinnacle Ops, and Crucible Ops. One run of Skywatch Solo Op on Grandmaster difficulty grants around 380 Candy, including random Candy drops from enemies throughout the activity.

Portal activities don’t take too long to complete, and you can make the most out of your time by targeting those with Festival of the Lost bonus drops (grey icon), as completing them with a Grade B or higher awards an event weapon, including new additions like the Gunburn SMG.

You can also target activities with regular Bonus Drops to speed up your Power grind while also getting Candy.
