Razer Acquires Streaming Utility Platform StreamElements

After weeks of rumors and speculation about the future of StreamElements, it was announced on Friday that the streaming utility platform was being acquired by Razer.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Both Companies Say Nothing Changes

In a post on the StreamElements support website, it was announced that the company will continue to run as a standalone platform as a subsidiary of Razer.

“The goal is to preserve the tools creators rely on daily, improve long-term platform stability, and connect creators to a broader ecosystem of hardware, software, rewards, affiliate opportunities, and sponsorship programs,” they said, adding that StreamElements will remain its own software and not be absorbed into Razer’s platforms.

“The acquisition of the StreamElements assets comes as a natural fit for Razer,” Razer said in its announcement. “Both teams have always adopted a community-first philosophy in how they build products by listening to creators, iterating quickly, and prioritizing the long-term health of the ecosystem over short-term wins.” 

Razer says that they are “committed to ensuring full continuity of the business, including ongoing service, support, and sponsorship operations.”

Moving forward, all logins will remain the same, and all overlays, alerts, chatbots, and other tools will continue to work without any form of disruption. One area that seems to be going away, however, is SEPay. Users will have to withdraw their existing SEPay balance by December 31, 2026. To continue receiving tips through the platform, StreamElements suggests connecting a PayPal account to your profile.
