Pokémon Pokopia DLC Wave 1 Release Date Revealed

The long-awaited release date for the first wave of the Pokémon Pokopia DLC has been revealed, though it seems not in the way Nintendo or the developer initially intended.

Three waves of DLC for Pokémon Pokopia were announced during the Pokémon Presents earlier this year, which will come alongside a series of free content updates for all players.

A tentative release window of August 2026 was stated for the first wave of content, including the new Bubbly Basin area, but a precise release date has now been shared.

In a now-deleted video for Japanese audiences, an image showing a release date of August 5, 2026, for the Bubbly Basin portion of the DLC was shown.

No official confirmation has come from either The Pokémon Company or Pokopia developer Koei Tecmo since, but it appears the reveal of the date was a premature one.

It means players have around a week to wait for the arrival of the Bubbly Basin DLC for owners of the DLC Pack and for the free content update for all players, which may have come earlier than many anticipated.

It was expected that the release date would come ahead of the Pokémon World Championships, taking place at the end of August, but there has been radio silence ever since the initial reveal.

Concrete news is on the horizon, however, during what’s expected to be a flood of Pokémon content, with a new set in TCG Pocket releasing on Thursday, a new physical TCG set releasing in Japan on Friday, and a growing build-up to the World Championships.

Part 2 of the Pokémon Pokopia DLC content will release in “late 2026,” introducing “additional features to help develop your Pokémon utopia,” with Part 3 coming in 2027, with a “new town to explore and rebuild.”
