The Esports World Cup’s sixth week of action saw emphatic victories that reinforced the dominance of teams and individuals.

Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG Mobile, and Chess trophies were awarded as Counter-Strike 2’s tournament completed its group stage.

You can see how the EWC 2026 CS2 playoffs shaped up. But to see how each team won their trophies at Week 6 of EWC, read below.

Magnus Carlsen completes undefeated run at EWC 2026

The Esports World Cup 2026 saw its second iteration of Chess played as an esport. On computers, with 10 minutes per player and no increment, the format is its own beast, rewarding a balance of quick-thinking and accurate play.

Coming in as the EWC 2025 champion, Magnus Carlsen has suffered a few uncharacteristic defeats this year in Classical Chess and also seemingly came into the EWC 2026 Chess tournament under the weather.

The Norwegian described himself as in no condition to play Chess after a somewhat messy win against Andrey Esipenko, but as he recovered his strength, his Chess recovered in kind.

The Norwegian did not lose a single game in the competition, either drawing or winning every game on his way to retaining his title with a 2-0 victory over Denis Lazavik, providing much-needed points for Liquid, who have wildly underperformed at EWC 2026 by and large.

Lazavik himself provided points for AG.AL, and had an excellent tournament, upsetting Nodirbek and Hikaru Nakamura on his way to the Grand Final.

Team Falcons capture Rocket League title with dralii securing historic threepeat

Defending EWC Champions, and with the French fans cheering them on, the event seemed to be set up for Axel ‘Vatira’ Touret and Karmine Corp to retain the EWC Rocket League tournament as the last day of the event loomed.

In the end, the event was retained, but not by Karmine Corp. Instead, Falcons returned to their very best in a 4-0 demolition of Karmine Corp.

NiP conquerors, Spacestation Gaming, were then met with the exact same fate in the Grand Final, in a statement win for Falcons at EWC 2026.

The feat meant that Samy ‘dralii’ Hajji retained the EWC title, not for the first time but for the second time, to complete a historic threepeat.

The Moroccan is the first player in any title to win three Esports World Cups. Seeing as there are only three EWCs so far, that in itself is a remarkable feat. However, the achievement is even more notable as he won it with three different teams: Team BDS, Karmine Corp, and now Team Falcons.

The victory, the second trophy for Falcons at EWC 2026, puts Falcons in a commanding position going into the final week of EWC 2026.

FaZe reinforce dynasty credentials with EWC win

Six Invitational 2026 and South America League 2026 Stage 1 winners, FaZe went into EWC with huge expectations, but also a point to prove after a semi-final exit at the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City.

In the end, FaZe Clan ran the whole tournament undefeated and beat fellow Brazilians FURIA 3-1 to claim their first Siege EWC title. FURIA snatched one map in overtime, but FaZe slammed the door 7-5 on Lair, with Jaime ‘Cyber’ Ramos taking the SONY MVP award.

The tournament reinforced the team’s supremacy, as three members of FaZe Clan made R6 history.

Cyber, Lucas ‘soulz1’ Schinke, and Eduardo ‘KDS’ Chiste Fontes became the first players to complete Siege’s Triple Crown: winning the Six Invitational, a Major, and now the Esports World Cup, with coach Rafael ‘RafadeLL’ de Oliveira completing the set too.

S2G survive scare to win PUBG Mobile World Cup

Battle Royale games always have an element of luck to their Grand Finals, and S2G will be counting their lucky stars after being left helpless in the final game of the Smash Rules finals.

After narrowly missing out on converting a Match Point win in Game 17, the roster was left helpless in the last game of the event, with Nongshim RedForce, Aurora, and eArena all eligible to win the event with a game victory.

Thankfully for them, the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner of the game was not in contention for the title, meaning their 154 points were enough to guarantee them the PUBG Mobile World Cup.
