Capcom has been killing it as of late with its major franchises, but the company pulled the trigger on a new IP—Pragmata. It had plenty of hype and build-up, and the new title was a success on arrival, fueling conversations about a sequel.
Pragmata debuted to critical and commercial acclaim, with the first-time-ever title selling over one million copies in two days. It’s gone on to sell a wheelbarrow-load more since, and Capcom appears to be over the moon with its results.

Bloomberg recently reported on Capcom corporate officer Yoshikazu Shimauchi and his words on Capcom’s recent financial findings—which also showed 93% of digital sales were recorded through 2026!
In the report, it said: ‘Shimauchi said the likelihood of a sequel is high, raising the prospect that Capcom could develop the title into another pillar franchise and a source of longer-term revenue.’
Pragmata 2 is not a lock yet by any stretch, but this is a very good sign.
Another feather in the cap never hurts. With Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and others continually doing incredible business for the company, why not add Pragmata as a franchise to the ranks?
It helps that Pragmata is one of Capcom’s all-time top-rated Steam games, and the company’s smart business decisions are why Capcom achieved record profits and 59 million games sold in FY2026.
A Pragmata sequel looks on the cards, but if you’ve still never experienced the first game, check it out below.
