For the past week, there’s been a mystery to solve in Marvel Rivals: who killed Apocalypse? The mutant tried to ascend to Godhood, but was swiftly struck down, and it was up to our heroes to figure it all out.
That said, before we could solve that mystery, a string of murders occurred, with Wolverine, Psylocke, and Gambit each getting killed. Over the week, we’ve solved each case, and with enough clues to work with, we can finally turn our attention to Apocalypse.
The final task is far easier to solve, but it does point to the future of Marvel Rivals, with a major villain on the horizon.
How To Solve Death Of Apocalypse In Marvel Rivals

Once you’ve solved the three prior cases, it’s time to put all the clues together and figure out who killed Apocalypse.
It’s far easier than the other cases, as all you need to do is match the three clue words to each case where they were relevant. Pictures assigned to each thread should bear a resemblance to each clue, and you should figure out where each image goes in no time.
Aside from cracking the case, you’ll also receive 100 Units, which is always handy with the incredible amounts of skins that arrive on a weekly basis. But what we all want to know is how this story comes to an end, and it might be how we expected…
Who Killed Apocalypse In Marvel Rivals?
Once you place each clue in the correct spot, you’ll receive a wall of text explaining the mystery, and everything leads directly to only one suspect…
… Who is none other than Gorr, the God Butcher. It was deduced that the All-Black sword was used as the murder weapon, which had remnants of Phoenix Force energy, as well as the capability to drain Apocalypse’s soul, explaining why he couldn’t be resurrected.
However, the All-Black must have a new wielder, as Knull has certainly not returned. Instead, Thor brings to light a man who slaughters Gods and has previously used the Necrosword: Gorr. Emma Frost deduces that it makes sense, since he’d likely want to strike someone down before they ascend to Godhood.
That said, Jubilee isn’t too convinced. She fears that Gorr will have a new target in mind, but for now, that’s where the story ends, though it does hint at an exciting future for Marvel Rivals.
Gorr the God Butcher is rumored to be arriving as a playable character in Season 10, alongside the mutant Nightcrawler. With such a religious figure and a God killer, could that be the plot of next Season: Gorr hunting down more Gods, whilst Nightcrawler rallies the heroes to protect them? Only time will tell, but we’re certainly in for an exciting next few months—all leading up to Doom.
Once you’re done with investigations, it’s time to hop into a match, and why not give Jubilee a shot? Check out her trailer below:
