Vatira Bests M0nkey M00n in RLCS Paris Major Grand Final to Ignite GOAT Debate

Karmine Corp defeated Twisted Minds 4-1 in front of a ravenous home crowd to win the Rocket League Championship (RLCS) 2026 Paris Major.

The victory meant Axel ‘Vatira’ Touret secured a record fourth Major win in the open era, securing the win and tournament MVP with victory over Evan ‘M0nkey M00n’ Rogez.

Karmine Corp defeated Twisted Minds 4-2, 1-0, 0-3, 2-1, 2-1 to claim their second title of the year after their RLCS 2026 Kick-Off Weekend victory, giving the roster their second Major in four attempts.

The victory also saw Alexandre ‘Extra’ Paoli become the first former player to win a Rocket League Major as coach.

The duo of Vatira and Tristan ‘Atow.’ Soyez showed why they have been labelled as the best duo in Rocket League, as the pair combined to grind out the series against a spirited but sometimes uncoordinated Twisted Minds.

Twisted Minds will be bitterly disappointed with the second-place finish, none more so than Mohammed ‘trk511’ Alotaibi, who suffered his fifth big-event Grand Final defeat, after losing the RLCS 2025 World Championship Grand Final to NRG last September.

Still, the run to the finals was an unforgettable one for Twisted Minds after a remarkable lower bracket run, which saw the team eliminate Gentle Mates, amongst others.

After the loss, Twisted Minds’ coach Kais ‘Sadjunior’ Zehri took responsibility for the Grand Final defeat, remarking that his team would be back.

GOAT debate heats up after fourth Vatira Major

Vatira is amassing a legendary career, becoming the first player to win two, then three, and now four Majors in the open era.

With this victory coming against M0nkey M00n, the victory has sparked discussion on whether the 20-year-old Frenchman should be part of the GOAT debate.

Some have argued that the Frenchman is already up there with GOATs M0nkey M00n, Pierre ‘Turbopolsa’ Silfver, and Alexandre ‘Kaydop’ Courant due to the level of his play.
