NLC Announces Talent Line-Up for Its Spring Split Return

The Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) has confirmed its new broadcast talent line-up after some initial controversy.

The EMEA Regional League for the UK, Ireland, and Nordic countries is finally returning after the NLC Spring Split was delayed due to the previous tournament organiser stepping down.

Due to the league’s delayed start, the NLC Spring Split will be condensed into just two weeks in order to crown a new champion.

And for that mad rush, the league’s new organisers have hired six on-air talent after interviews with over 30 casters.

New NLC 2026 Broadcast Team

The NLC Spring Split casting team will feature:

  • Jake ‘Hiprain’ Matthews (play-by-play)
  • Luise Emilie ‘Mile’ Tschersich (play-by-play)
  • Calum ‘Trajan’ Macdonald (play-by-play)
  • Jonathan ‘just jon’ Ellis (colour caster)
  • BlackBloxer‘ (colour caster)
  • Rob ‘RLoweth‘ (colour caster)

Long-serving caster Hiprain has returned to the NLC after being fired out of the blue earlier in the year when the previous organisers opted for a less professional broadcast.

Just jon hasn’t cast since the UKEL in 2021, but previously worked with Excel Esports in the LEC and was head coach of NORD’s star-studded NLC 2025 roster.

Meanwhile, Mile cast the inaugural LoL Game Changers Rising finals last year and has also worked on both EMEA Masters and the LPL English cast.

Trajan has also cast EMEA Masters and has been working on the English broadcast of the CBLoL.

And RLoweth and BlackBloxer both recently worked on the UKEL, with the latter also covering the LPL this season.

NLC Broadcast Drama

Last week, the NLC posted a statement apologising after upsetting former NLC casters.

The league had posted an open call for new casters before reaching out to those who had worked on the league and were fired earlier in the year.

Some claimed it was insensitive, considering how casters like Hiprain and Georgia ‘Troubleinc’ Parasan, who worked on the NLC for years, had unexpectedly lost their jobs.

The NLC apologised for “not recognizing the severity of the topic” and acknowledged it was a delicate subject considering the league’s past.

However, Troubleinc posted she feels no ill towards the new organisers, and Hiprain rejoining the NLC suggests he possibly feels the same.
